What Is MiniMax H3 (Hailuo 3.0)?

MiniMax H3 is the third-generation Hailuo video model from MiniMax, the team behind Hailuo AI. MiniMax released it on July 31, 2026, and it also goes by Hailuo 3.0 in the Hailuo app. It renders native 2K video with stereo audio generated in the same pass as the picture.

It takes more than text: animate a photo, or combine up to 15 reference images, videos and audio clips to keep a character consistent, copy a camera move or match a voice. On Visiojoy you can try all three modes from the generator above, with clips from 4 to 15 seconds. Visiojoy is an independent platform, not affiliated with MiniMax.

Why Use MiniMax H3

Four things that set it apart from other video models on Visiojoy.

2K without the 4K price

MiniMax H3 renders 2K natively instead of upscaling a smaller video, so fine texture — hair, fabric, water, small text — holds up on large screens. At 13 credits per second it is the lowest-cost option above 1080p among Visiojoy's video models — Seedance 2.0 at 4K costs 208.

Stereo audio in every clip

Sound is generated in the same pass as the picture, in stereo: ambience, effects, music and dialogue, placed left and right to match the action. It is always on for H3, so every download already has a soundtrack.

Reference images, videos and audio

Mix up to 9 images, 3 videos and 3 audio clips to fix a character's look, copy a camera move or match a voice. The first 5 reference images are included in the price.

Start and end frames

Animate a photo from its first frame — the clip keeps the image's own aspect ratio. In the AI Video workspace you can also add an end frame so the shot lands exactly where you want it.

MiniMax H3 Text-to-Video, Image-to-Video and References

Three ways to start a clip. The generator above switches mode based on what you upload; end frames and the full settings panel are in the AI Video workspace.

Text to video

You upload

Nothing — just a prompt

Describe the scene, motion and sound. Choose from 6 aspect ratios, 21:9, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, 9:16.

Image to video

You upload

1 start image, optional end image

The video starts from your image and keeps its aspect ratio. A prompt is required — describe what moves. Add the end frame in the AI Video workspace.

Reference to video

You upload

Up to 9 images, 3 videos, 3 audio clips

Uses MiniMax's dedicated reference model. Audio needs at least one image or video alongside it. Adds an Auto aspect ratio that follows your references.

Hailuo 3.0 vs Hailuo 2.3: What Changed

MiniMax H3 replaces Hailuo 2.3 as MiniMax's main video model. The biggest jumps are resolution, sound and the kinds of input it accepts.

Set 4–15 seconds and an aspect ratio. The credit cost shows before you start; download the finished video from the AI Video workspace.

MiniMax H3 Prompt Library

MiniMax H3 prompts written for 2K detail and stereo sound. Click one to load it into the generator, then match the settings shown on the card.

How to write a good MiniMax H3 prompt

  • Name the detail you want at 2K. Fabric weave, skin pores, water droplets, fine print on a label. Saying what should be sharp makes the extra resolution visible.
  • Place sounds in the stereo field. Audio is generated in stereo, so describe where things are and how they move: a car passing left to right, birds behind the camera, a voice in the center.
  • Keep 15 seconds to one or two beats. One clear action plus a reaction or camera move fills a clip. Longer stories work better as several clips edited together.
  • Describe motion in image-to-video. A prompt is required with a start image. Don't re-describe what is already in the picture; say what moves, how the camera moves and what we hear.
  • Give each reference a role. Say which image is the character, which video sets the camera move, which clip is the voice. Audio references need at least one image or video next to them.

Example prompts by use case

Wide shots, landscapes and texture-rich close-ups are where 2K pays off. Pick 2K and a wide ratio, and tell the model what should stay sharp.

  • Glacier flyover

    10s · 21:9 · 2K

Slow aerial flyover of a turquoise glacier lagoon at sunrise, icebergs drifting, camera gliding low over the water then rising to reveal snow-capped mountains. Crisp detail on the ice cracks and ripples. Sound: deep wind, ice creaking, distant birds.

  • Rainy window

    8s · 16:9 · 2K

Close-up of raindrops racing down a café window at night, out-of-focus city lights behind, a hand wraps around a steaming coffee cup in the foreground. Slow focus pull from the drops to the cup. Sound: rain tapping glass, soft café chatter.

  • Desert caravan

    15s · 21:9 · 2K

A camel caravan crosses tall sand dunes at golden hour, long shadows stretching across the sand, camera tracking alongside at a distance, then tilting up to the sun. Fine sand blowing off the dune ridges. Sound: wind, camel bells, footsteps in sand.

Upload a product photo as the first frame to keep the packaging exact, then describe the motion. 2K keeps labels and materials readable.

  • Watch reveal

    8s · 16:9 · 2K

A steel chronograph watch rotates slowly on a black glass surface, a light sweep moves across the dial revealing brushed metal and engraved numbers, camera pushes in to the second hand ticking. Sound: a deep bass tone, crisp mechanical ticking.

  • Soda pour

    6s · 9:16 · 768p

An ice-cold lemon soda is poured into a tall glass full of ice, bubbles rising, a lemon slice drops in with a splash, condensation on the glass. Bright summer light, vertical framing. Sound: fizzing, ice clinking, a satisfying splash.

  • Sneaker on the street

    10s · 9:16 · 768p

Low-angle tracking shot of white sneakers walking across a wet city crosswalk at night, neon reflections in puddles, then the shoe stops and the camera circles it. Sound: footsteps splashing, passing cars from left to right, an upbeat beat.

Scenes where the audio carries the moment. Write the sounds as carefully as the picture, and say where they come from.

  • Thunderstorm porch

    12s · 16:9 · 768p

An old wooden porch on a farmhouse during a summer thunderstorm, a rocking chair moves gently, lightning lights up the fields. Static wide shot. Sound: heavy rain on the tin roof, thunder rolling from right to left, the chair creaking.

  • Jazz club

    15s · 16:9 · 768p

A small smoky jazz club, a saxophonist plays a slow solo under a single spotlight, the camera drifts past tables toward the stage. Sound: warm saxophone melody in the center, glasses clinking and quiet conversation on both sides.

  • Forest morning

    10s · 9:16 · 2K

Sunbeams cut through morning mist in a pine forest, a deer steps onto the path and looks toward the camera, then walks away. Slow push-in. Sound: birdsong all around, a twig snapping, a stream off to the left.

For Reference to Video mode. Upload the files first, then use the prompt to tell H3 what each one is for.

  • Same character, new scene

    8s · Auto · 768p

Use the woman from the reference images as the main character. She walks through a crowded night market, stops at a noodle stall, and smiles at the cook. Keep her face, hair and red jacket the same as in the references. Sound: market chatter, sizzling woks.

  • Copy a camera move

    10s · Auto · 2K

Follow the camera movement from the reference video: a fast forward dolly through a doorway. Apply it to a new scene — a sunlit greenhouse full of tropical plants, ending on a single orange flower. Sound: birds and dripping water.

  • Match a voice

    10s · Auto · 768p

The man from the reference image sits at a desk facing the camera and talks to the viewer in the voice from the reference audio, small hand gestures, soft office lighting, medium close-up. Keep his appearance consistent with the image.

MiniMax H3 FAQ

What is MiniMax H3?+

MiniMax H3 is an AI video model from MiniMax, the company behind Hailuo AI, released on July 31, 2026. It generates 4- to 15-second clips at 768p or native 2K with stereo audio created in the same pass. On Visiojoy, available since October 2026, you can use it for text-to-video, image-to-video and reference-to-video.

Is MiniMax H3 the same as Hailuo 3.0?+

Yes. MiniMax H3 is the model name MiniMax uses for developers, and Hailuo 3.0 is the same model under MiniMax's consumer Hailuo AI brand. It is the successor to the Hailuo 2.x video models.

What's new in Hailuo 3.0 compared with Hailuo 2.3?+

Hailuo 2.3 made silent clips of around 10 seconds at up to 1080p. MiniMax H3 (Hailuo 3.0) renders native 2K, generates stereo sound with the picture, runs 4 to 15 seconds and accepts image, video and audio references — up to 15 files in one generation.

What resolution and length does MiniMax H3 support?+

Two resolutions: 768p for drafts and native 2K for final output. Clips can be any length from 4 to 15 seconds, in 21:9, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4, 9:16 — plus an Auto ratio in Reference to Video mode. In image-to-video the clip follows the aspect ratio of your image.

Does MiniMax H3 generate sound?+

Yes, always. Every clip comes with stereo audio — ambience, sound effects, music and speech — generated together with the video. There is no option to turn it off on Visiojoy; mute the clip in your editor if you only need the picture.

What references can I upload?+

In Reference to Video mode: up to 9 images (JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 30 MB each), 3 videos (MP4 or MOV, up to 50 MB each, 15 seconds in total) and 3 audio clips (MP3 or WAV, up to 15 MB each, 15 seconds in total). Audio can't be the only reference — add at least one image or video. Adding references requires signing in.

How much does MiniMax H3 cost?+

8 credits per second at 768p and 13 at 2K, so a 10-second clip costs 80 or 130 credits. With reference videos, the reference length is billed too, at the same rate (8 / 13 credits per second of reference plus output). The first 5 reference images are free; each one after that adds 4 credits.

Is MiniMax H3 free?+

Not entirely. New accounts get 12 free credits, and the shortest H3 clip (4 seconds at 768p) costs 32. To generate, you need a credit pack (from $9.90 for 640 credits — about 80 seconds of 768p video) or a subscription (from $15/month).

MiniMax H3 or Seedance 2.5 — which should I use?+

Pick MiniMax H3 for the sharpest picture per credit (2K at 13 credits per second) and stereo sound. Pick Seedance 2.5 when you need clips longer than 15 seconds — it goes up to 30 — or want to switch audio off. Both accept image, video and audio references.

Is there a MiniMax H3 API?+

MiniMax offers the model in its own developer API under the ID MiniMax-H3. If you'd rather not set up a separate account, Visiojoy's MCP server lets you generate MiniMax H3 videos from Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients with the same credits you use on this website.

Is Visiojoy the official Hailuo AI website?+

No. Visiojoy is an independent AI video platform and is not affiliated with MiniMax or Hailuo AI. It gives you MiniMax H3 alongside Seedance, Wan, Grok Imagine and other models in one account, with one credit balance.

Can I use MiniMax H3 videos commercially?+

Yes, once you've made a purchase. Videos created after your first purchase (any subscription or credit pack) can be used commercially; videos created before your first purchase are licensed for personal, non-commercial use only. Also check the destination platform's policy before publishing.
